Lead Product Designer

Our design and development recruitment team are helping a client find a Lead Product Designer on permanent basis. Our e-commerce client provides a technology platform to brands and retailers that wish to sell online into global markets. They make brands' websites feel local to international shoppers and makes it easier for them to complete their purchase, moving seamlessly through the buyer journey, from checkout to returns.

About You

  • As a lead product designer, you will play a key role connecting the dots between the business, users and technology.

  • Good understanding of a holistic UX process and follow a user-centered approach when making design decisions.

  • Lead design projects and helping others navigate complex user problems to create great user experience.

  • Motivated by the unique challenges in the global retail industry and excited to work alongside an incredibly talented team.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a subset of the design team.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and other internal teams to deliver the best

    solutions for our projects.

  • Lead design projects from concept through to completion.

  • Mentor fellow designers both on project work and career development.

  • Identify and improve operational processes within the UX team and internal product teams.

  • Represent design in cross discipline initiatives.

    Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of design experience

  • Demonstrable experience of designing with the big picture in mind, working through

    problems from beginning to end

  • Driven by excellence. Encourage and drive high-quality design work both in their own

    work and the work of their team

  • Skilled in creating and presenting topics to large audiences both internally and externally

  • Is a future thinker. Skilled in articulating the vision for products and the steps for how the design gets there.

  • Great multitasker - can juggle and deliver multiple projects, stakeholders and features.

  • A portfolio is a must

    We consider these as a plus:

Experience in enterprise applications and examples of complex systems product design.

Experience in people management and leading a team of designers.
