We are working with a large retail group as they embark on a large scale digital transformation programme. They are looking to hire a talented user experience designer. This is not just about visual design, or user interface design, they need someone who has experience in research, ideation, proto-typing, usability, and testing. THIS WILL BE/ HAVE THE ABILITY TO:

  • Responsible for researching, planning and designing the digital user experience
  • Ability to design an experience across smartphone, tablet and desktop
  • Runs user testing groups with customers and potential new users
  • Prepare wireframes and prototypes to aid the ideation, development and testing process
  • Build a UX team with external and internal hires and embeds user centred design thinking in the broader digital team over time
  • Represent the customer on all projects and at all meetings
  • Heavily involved in planning the development of digital assets and innovation
  • Main interface with the market research department.

 
YOU WILL HAVE/ YOU WILL BE:

  • Bachelors degree in human computer interaction (HCI), multimedia design,  or a related discipline
  • Power user of Adobe Creative Suite and other design applications like omnigraffle, Balsamiq etc.
  • Experience of working closely with other designers, UX designers and UI developers
  • In possession of an up to date portfolio of work
  • Responsive/ adaptive design experience
  • Experience in coding HTML and CSS
  • Strong understanding of user research, wire-framing, personas and other HCI methods
  • In depth knowledge of mobile user interface design principals, user-centric design processes, accessibility and usability methodologies
  • Technical and commercial understanding of analytics, and ability to influence business decisions
  • Creative, curious, biased to action, collaborative and consensus building by nature.

It involves the management of research, ideation, prototyping, usability, and testing. And the need to nurture the existing team and add new members.
