Job Description

We are working with a global ecommerce business client to help them find a Programme Manager to join our growing Delivery Team in Digital and Mobile. The role as a Programme Manager is to manage a portfolio of projects in the Digital and Mobile Team, linked around a common technology and business theme. This means the management of the portfolio from the initial vision of the business through all stages of project implementation to production. Your role is to plan and direct the Programme portfolio so that it aligns with the strategic and delivery vision of the business and the delivery organisation.

Desirable skills: 

  • PMI/Prince 2 certification
  • A technical background is preferred – ideally gained in consulting companies or working with e-Commerce or other enterprise systems with international, Tier 1 customer organisations
  • Knowledge of IT and Digital systems, including experience of leading software development projects involving web-based, mid-range and integration platforms and applications
  • Detailed understanding of the technical architecture underpinning the IT service landscape in e-Commerce, Online Media or Information Technology & Services environments

Qualifications & key criteria:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification with a strong technical focus
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience of working with IT Software Development Lifecycle methodologies including Waterfall & Agile
  • Possess at least 10+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 8 years in project or programme management
  • Experience in working with third party suppliers in the delivery of business or IT change initiatives – including experience of working with remote and co-located teams and vendors
  • Advanced level of proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience of implementing projects with a budget of at least €5 million
  • Experience leading complex transformation projects
  • A strong understanding of best practises, tools and techniques for project management and programme management with ability to continuously improve these processes
  • Acute understanding and ability to demonstrate expertise in Quality Management, Project Planning, Risk & Change management
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally at levels up to Director and C Suite, and ability to make complex technology problem simple to the business. Must be capable of understanding and communicating the “big picture”
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and to influence stakeholders in support of project delivery
