    We have been asked to help our client hire a Scrum Master on a day-rate contract for a period of six months.

     

    About the client

    Based in the city centre this large financial services business offering advanced digital services and products to millions of customers.

     

    Why the need to fill this role

    The client is in the middle of a large transformation programme with ongoing technical and business work streams. They are standing up an agile team to deliver a number of native app and responsive web features for their consumer and business customers.

     

    What you'll need to do or have experience of

    • Lead an agile, self-organising business and process transformation team, empowering them to make great decisions in how they develop, test and release improvements to the business change programme.
    • Provide coaching and support to the team, upskilling more junior members in the aspects of Scrum, agile and product ownership.
    • Support the product owner in their efforts to prioritise and manage the backlog.
    • Help the team to understand their process and achieve reliable, predictable delivery.
    • A good grounding in business change management and non-software related process improvement.
    • Ability to mentor other scrum masters and train and educate the team on aspects of the agile processes.
    • Excellent communication skills and an innate ability to influence others.
    • Senior level, recent experience, working as a scrum master in a fast paced fintech, utility or technology type company.
    • Must be a certified scrum master.

    This is a digital product owner role working in an agile team on a contract basis for an initial period of six months.   

    About the client

    The client is in the middle of a large transformation programme with ongoing technical and business work streams. They are standing up an agile team to deliver several native app and responsive web features for their consumer and business customers.

     

    What you’ll need to do or have experience of:

    1. You'll be delivering and operating new digital tools as well as innovating/ changing how we use technology to achieve business goals.
    2. You'll need to be able to balance user centered (UX) design needs with the regulatory and commercial reality.
    3. Working knowledge of front-end web technologies (HTML5, CSS, etc.)
    4. Experience of working with digital technologies is a needed for the role.
    5. Experience of working in agile teams using the SCRUM delivery process framework coupled with an ability to create effective user stories that follow the INVEST principles
    6. Engaging with senior leadership is a key skills, as is the ability to get along with a wide variety of people in different departments. Stakeholder management and peer influencing in old money.
    7. The backlog of initiatives is in your hands and you will manage this effectively by running A/B tests and using data analysis to validate underlying hypotheses and business cases. You will also be responsible for making sure the initiatives carried our are in line with the product strategy and vision.
    8. You'll lead daily scrums, sprint planning meetings and sprint reviews and retrospectives, as well as ensuring that the next
      sprint is ready to commence.
    9. Relevant experience in user centred delivery of mobile and web applications in a digital / ecommerce environment. 
    10. A proven track record of delivering innovative solutions in previous digital projects.
